Your smile is often the first thing people notice. Dr. Hardy provides
today’s advanced techniques in Cosmetic Dentistry. Teeth that are discolored,
crooked, chipped or misaligned can be beautifully corrected. Dr. Hardy uses the
latest technology for porcelain veneers, bonding, and tooth whitening.
Teeth Whitening
Dr.
Hardy gives you a whole new reason to smile! If your teeth have become dingy,
discolored, or stained, teeth whitening can give you the bright, white, smile you
deserve. Teeth whitening can be performed to provide you with overall whiter,
brighter teeth, or if one tooth is discolored, a more consistent color. There
are various teeth- or tooth- whitening procedures, and your specific needs should
be considered when consulting Dr. Hardy. At Cornerstone Dentistry, we are committed to providing the latest in cosmetic
dentistry services.
TMJ Treatment
“TMJ” is a name given to a very broad range of problems in and around the
temperomandibular jaw joints located just in front of your ears. The most common
symptoms include: intense pain, headaches, migraines, clicking in the joints,
ringing in the ears, tiredness in chewing muscles, sensitive teeth. It is
often overlooked or mistaken for some other disease. Many people think they have
an earache or infection only to be told by their doctor that their ears are
fine.
A thorough evaluation is necessary to determine the cause of the pain but over
90% of the time it is related to either an unbalanced bite, habits such as teeth
grinding and clenching, or both. Injuries to the jaw area, sometimes years
earlier, are also a common cause.
The treatment for TMJ in the majority of cases is predictable and effective. It
is something Dr Hardy enjoys treating as he devotes several days each year
continuing his education on the latest treatment techniques. If you suspect that
you may have TMJ, give Dr. Hardy a call to schedule a consultation to learn more
about the types of TMJ treatment plans available.
Dentures & Partials
Complete dentures is often recommended when there are no teeth remaining.
The new teeth are prefabricated acrylic and come in many sizes, shapes, and
shades. They are processed into a custom made acrylic base which is made to
intimately and comfortably fit the gum tissue in your mouth. A
partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and is held
in place by your existing healthy teeth. A partial can restore esthetics and
function to your mouth. A partial can give you back much of this function and
can also help stabilize your remaining teeth. This stabilization can minimize
tooth drift, bite changes, and periodontal problems.
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns are similar to veneers, but work on teeth that are weaker, more brittle
or worn. Unlike veneers, dental crowns are bonded all the way around the tooth
to add a lot more strength and durability. Natural-looking crowns can be an
option when the entire surface of the tooth is a problem, but the root system is
still intact. Large scale defects in the tooth's surface can be caused by the
grinding of teeth, tooth decay, root canals, decay beneath a filling or a lost
filling, chipping and cracking of the enamel.
Digital X-rays
Digital radiography is the latest way to take and evaluate x-rays. With digital
x-rays, less radiation is needed to produce high-quality images. These images
can then be evaluated on a large flat-screen monitor. This allows for easier
detection of any problems. With such a large image, it is also easier for
patients to see and understand what is happening with their teeth.
Invisalign
Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.
Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth
without metal wires or brackets. It has been proven effective in clinical
research and in practices nationwide.
